The Shahanshahi calendar (گاهشماری شاهنشاهی) was the official calendar of Iran from March 1976 to August 1978 during the Pahlavi era. It was created to emphasize Persian cultural identity by changing the epoch from the Islamic Hijra to the coronation of Cyrus the Great in 559 BCE.
